The days of the huxtables, are over with the middle-class black family. More and more single moms are raising children "men" on their own. Where are the fathers? Where are the positive role models? More and more young black men are emprisoned or being leaded down the wrong path. The next generation starts with us? that young man on the street corner instead of in college, could be your son, but most importantly you..lets stand up, and make a change. The future is now!
I totally agree. I think young men these days are corrupt with the wrong morals and priorities. Disrespect and vulgarity is on the rise. leaving chivalry and disrespect in the dust. I honestly think it comes from a lack of a father figure growing up.
ReplyDeleteWell I read your post and I am a single father, work full time, full time college student and I have never been locked up. I agree with your post though but not every young black male is this way, I'm a 2# year old college senior and I'm trying to show my son how to be a father and role model. I just want every man to realization not every man is headed down the wrong path, some just haven't found the right way to go.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, all black men are not the same. Its a hand few that actually take care of their responsiblities and others that dont. In some cases, its not always the fathers fault for not being in their childs life. There are many circumstances that can cause them to be absent such as an ignorant mother or even living in a different state. But if males have more people to look up to as an example then it could help them be the father they need to be.
ReplyDelete~ I AGREE TO ON SO MANY LEVELS BECAUSE ITS FUNNY HOW THE "BLACK MEN" WANT SO MUCH RESPECT, BUT THEY DON'T WANT TO STEP UP TO THE LEVEL. BUT STILL WE ALSO NEED PEOPLE TO PUSH THEM TO THAT LEVEL WERE THEY WANT TO DO BETTER THAN, THEY NEED TO DO BETTER. ~
